Allan Brough was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Doug Wishart showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. If Kirk Cohens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luke Dowrick blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Allan Brough having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kirk Cohens in the 22nd minute of play forced Universal Sc's goalkeeper Timothy Hubbard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Toby Scargill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Timothy Hubbard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Allan Brough was a little too slow when Luke Dowrick got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 28th minute. The score was now 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kirk Cohens in the 31st minute of play forced Universal Sc's goalkeeper Timothy Hubbard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 32 minutes of play, heskeys's Kirk Cohens made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Timothy Hubbard was left in no man's land by his defense there! Timothy Hubbard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toby Scargill, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Universal Sc's zone, Toby Scargill stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Timothy Hubbard came out of the goal and Toby Scargill tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Toby Scargill's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Timothy Hubbard read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. If Kirk Cohens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tris Harrington made a kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Ashley Eagles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. heskeys's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Universal Sc the free kick. Ashley Eagles kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Allan Brough showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doug Wishart, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. When Ashley Eagles was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 55 minutes had been played. Ashley Eagles hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Universal Sc's Luke Dowrick got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 62 minutes of play, heskeys's Sebastian Upson made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Timothy Hubbard was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kirk Cohens in the 65thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Timothy Hubbard, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Timothy Hubbard made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kirk Cohens in the 70th minute. Kirk Cohens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 79 minutes into the game, Universal Sc's Doug Wishart nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Allan Brough made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. After a defensive mix-up in heskeys's zone, Tommy Walls stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Allan Brough came out of the goal and Tommy Walls tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 84th minute, Lenny Ackroyd got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 95th minute, Kirk Cohens left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The heskeys fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
