Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Frazer Sunderland got the match started through his kick off. In the 3rd match minute, Thornbury was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frazer Sunderland to maneuver through the defense. Dom Walton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Spike Kay read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. Garry Chambers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 11th minute Keanu Chapman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stu Dodgson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Frazer Sunderland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stu Dodgson having to interfere. Stu Dodgson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Keanu Chapman, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Thornbury's Spike Kay proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Thornbury from getting a goal against them. Keanu Chapman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stu Dodgson having to interfere. With a little luck, Thornbury's Spike Kay got control of the ball when Garry Chambers tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thornbury's Spike Kay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dom Walton in the 29th minute of play. Stu Dodgson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frazer Sunderland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 35 minutes of play, Thornbury's Keanu Chapman made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Stu Dodgson was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 42nd minute, Keanu Chapman made a precise shot to the right of Stu Dodgson. Last Kings's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Malcolm Gould hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The long shot by Len Horsell in the 48th minute really tested Spike Kay's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Spike Kay stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Garry Chambers's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. A nice corner shot did that Len Horsell got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Spike Kay quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Spike Kay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dom Walton in the 58th minute of play. Matt Key charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Matt Key the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 62 played minutes Last Kings got a freekick which was hit by Matt Key. After having played for 66 minutes, Keanu Chapman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Thornbury's supporters crossed their fingers, but Keanu Chapman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 69 minutes into the game, Thornbury's Keanu Chapman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Stu Dodgson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. In the 72nd minute, Lance Plant hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 73 minutes into the game, Adrian Edmunds was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Thornbury's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Last Kings the free kick. A collision led to Thornbury getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Adrian Edmunds hit a great ball. Keanu Chapman's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Stu Dodgson firmly grabbed it by the left post. When Matt Key was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 78 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Last Kings's Matt Key got a free kick in the 79th minute. After 82 played minutes Last Kings got a freekick which was hit by Wally Albright. In the 84th minute Thornbury were awarded a corner. Frank Ramsay went to the cornerflag to take it. Frazer Sunderland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Stu Dodgson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frazer Sunderland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thornbury played a much better game than Last Kings and deserved their victory. The Last Kings players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
