He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Richard Rothwell. In the 11th minute, one of England:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for England. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Sid Auckland managed to get in a good position for a shot. Worthing United's supporters rose to their feet, but Sid Auckland was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Richard Rothwell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sid Auckland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Rothwell having to interfere. Sid Aucklands short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Richard Rothwell to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Todd Ruddock fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored England's protests and gave Todd Ruddock a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to England getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Todd Ruddock hit a great ball. Worthing United's Jake Swift got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hayden Bzeu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Eric May tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Worthing United's Leon Findley got a free kick in the 47th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Sid Auckland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jasper Santos during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 63 minutes into the game, Ethan Swift was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Worthing United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave England the free kick. With a little luck, Worthing United's Eric May got control of the ball when Gaz Hoult tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sid Auckland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 96th minute of the match Worthing United got a corner. England's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Philip Hurdle ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Worthing United's corner Jake Swift fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Richard Rothwell quite easily take care of the ball. Gaz Hoult recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
