Spectators: 7543 (Terracing: 5659, Seating: 1734, VIP seats: 150) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Frazer Sunderland took the kick off in the first half of the match. Richard Kalischer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frazer Sunderland, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. In the 7th minute, Frazer Sunderland ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Richard Kalischer was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 17 minutes into the match, Thornbury's Frazer Sunderland sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Richard Kalischer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thornbury's Frazer Sunderland got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Spike Kay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dom Braithwaite in the 21st minute of the match. In the 22nd minute, Casey Wildman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dom Braithwaite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Spike Kay took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dom Braithwaite, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Thornbury getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Adrian Edmunds hit a great ball. Frazer Sunderland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Richard Kalischer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dom Braithwaite was the one to do the kick off. If Keanu Chapman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frazer Sunderland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Richard Kalischer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot 57 in the game by Keanu Chapman from a close distance when the talented Richard Kalischer managed to make a qualified save. Wirral Blues's players were relieved. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Frazer Sunderland in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Richard Kalischer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 60 minutes into the match, Wirral Blues's goalkeeper Richard Kalischer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Keanu Chapman. A collision led to Wirral Blues getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Trevor Jefferies hit a great ball. Frazer Sunderland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Thornbury getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Casey Wildman hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Keanu Chapman got free with Richard Kalischer in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 72 minutes into the match, Wirral Blues's goal looked a bit too open when Frazer Sunderland came free, but Richard Kalischer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Keanu Chapman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Kalischer having to interfere. Frazer Sunderland recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Antony Beswetherick kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Richard Kalischer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frazer Sunderland in the 85th minute of the match. After 86 played minutes Wirral Blues got a freekick which was hit by Ricky Kear. Keanu Chapman might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Richard Kalischer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Keanu Chapman ran back to his position shaking his head. Thornbury played a much better game than Wirral Blues and deserved their victory. The Wirral Blues players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
