After 3 minutes, Jeffrey Tolley made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Wirral Blues's Richard Kalischer tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 13 minutes into the game, Trevor Jefferies was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wirral Blues's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Egremont United the free kick. After 13 played minutes Wirral Blues got a freekick which was hit by Trevor Jefferies. In the 16th minute Billie Kitchen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Kalischer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Colin Ely didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 17th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. Richard Kalischer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Billie Kitchen in the 23rd minute of play. Billie Kitchen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Kalischer having to interfere. 31 minutes into the match, Egremont United's Camron Duckworth sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Richard Kalischer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 33 minutes into the match, Wirral Blues's goal looked a bit too open when Billie Kitchen came free, but Richard Kalischer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Jeffrey Tolley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Billie Kitchen made a kick off. Trevor Jefferies was shown his second yellow card after 52 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 53rd minute, Trevor Jefferies hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Egremont United's Billie Kitchen slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Richard Kalischer. That made the score 1-2 after 58 minutes of play. 61 minutes in the game, Billie Kitchen fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Richard Kalischer having to interfere. Camron Duckworth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Kalischer having to interfere. Rueben Dickens hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Camron Duckworth managed to get in a good position for a shot. Egremont United's supporters rose to their feet, but Camron Duckworth was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Richard Kalischer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 77th minute, Antony Beswetherick hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Richard Kalischer made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Camron Duckworth sent off a good shot on target. Jerome Inman hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Antony Beswetherick recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Dom Braithwaite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 95 minutes into the match, Egremont United's goal looked a bit too open when Geoff Watts came free, but Colin Ely reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
