Wayne Moxon was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rick Parkinson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trevor Blackburn having to interfere. Wayne Moxon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lance Apsden, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. A collision led to Telford getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Ty Cheetham hit a great ball. After 21 played minutes Telford got a freekick which was hit by Ty Cheetham. Trevor Blackburn was a little too slow when Rick Parkinson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 22nd minute. The score was now 2-1. In the 27th minute Rick Parkinson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trevor Blackburn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Telford's Trevor Blackburn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Telford from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lance Apsden in the 38th minute of play forced Mancunian Spurs's goalkeeper Wayne Moxon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Garry Titmus scored 2-2 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wayne Moxon, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lance Apsden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wayne Moxon having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Lance Apsden got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ty Cheetham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wayne Moxon having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rick Parkinson made a kick off. If Rick Parkinson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Garry Titmus fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Telford's protests and gave Garry Titmus a yellow card for diving instead. After 53 played minutes Telford got a freekick which was hit by Garry Titmus. Trevor Blackburn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rick Parkinson's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. Ty Cheetham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wayne Moxon having to interfere. After having played for 72 minutes, Lance Apsden managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Telford's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lance Apsden was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Glyn Green had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 81 minutes into the match, Mancunian Spurs's goalkeeper Wayne Moxon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Harry Bennet. In the 83rd match minute, Mancunian Spurs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rio Pearch to maneuver through the defense. Wayne Moxon made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Lance Apsden sent off a good shot on target. Garry Titmus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wayne Moxon having to interfere. Sean Boatman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lance Apsden succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-4 in the 94th playminute. Telford's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
