After a defensive mix-up in Flash of the Blade's zone, Lennie Bush stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro McAleer came out of the goal and Lennie Bush tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Zeus academy's Matthew Gallagher got a free kick in the 39th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar Bowland in the 40th minute of play forced Zeus academy's goalkeeper Tod Gettins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute Tosh Harris shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tod Gettins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Flash of the Blade were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
