Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Bill Eubank made the kick off which started today's match. After 3 played minutes Thamesmead got a freekick which was hit by Eddie Morrell. After having played for 4 minutes, Bruce Foster managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dover AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bruce Foster was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bill Eubank in the 13th minute of play forced Dover AFC's goalkeeper Dale Swift to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Zane Rowling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dale Swift showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bill Eubank, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Thamesmead's zone, Bruce Foster stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alastair Acton came out of the goal and Bruce Foster tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Thamesmead's goalkeeper Alastair Acton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dale Swift showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bill Eubank in the 27th minute of the match. Zane Rowling fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dale Swift having to interfere. When Richie Tomkins fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dover AFC's protests and gave Richie Tomkins a yellow card for diving instead. In the 31st minute, Richie Tomkins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bill Eubank in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dale Swift saved Dover AFC from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Bill Eubank put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Dale Swift. In the 38th match minute, Dover AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denzil Meehan to maneuver through the defense. Bruce Foster received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Alastair Acton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Damion Ryder kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Thamesmead's zone, Bruce Foster stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alastair Acton came out of the goal and Bruce Foster tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alastair Acton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alec Floyd in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Thamesmead were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alec Floyd stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Zane Rowling fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dale Swift having to interfere. If Bruce Foster had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alastair Acton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alec Floyd, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 61 minutes Thamesmead's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lewis Wardill who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Dover AFC's Lewis Wardill to fire away a dangerous shot which Alastair Acton despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Alec Floyd managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dover AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alec Floyd was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alastair Acton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A hard shot 68 in the game by Zane Rowling from a close distance when the talented Dale Swift managed to make a qualified save. Dover AFC's players were relieved. Zane Rowling sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 73rd minute, Eddie Morrell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Alec Floyd managed to get in a good position for a shot. The audience was convinced that Bill Eubank's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dale Swift was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. Dover AFC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
