In the 13th minute, Dylan Breckin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 16 minutes into the game, Damian Delamore was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Cegła na Cegłe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zoo fc the free kick. After 16 played minutes FC Cegła na Cegłe got a freekick which was hit by Damian Delamore. Jon Bentham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Button having to interfere. Richard Button took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Louis Frizzell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute FC Cegła na Cegłe were awarded a corner. Billy Kear went to the cornerflag to take it. The audience was convinced that Louis Frizzell's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Richard Button was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. FC Cegła na Cegłe's Richard Button played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jon Bentham in the 42nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, FC Cegła na Cegłe's Wes Shipperley got a free kick in the 43rd minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After some careless play in the FC Cegła na Cegłe defense, Louis Frizzell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Richard Button. Dominic Houghton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jake Hay in the 59th minute of play. Richard Button tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jon Bentham in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Richard Button saved FC Cegła na Cegłe from getting behind. 86 minutes into the match, FC Cegła na Cegłe's goal looked a bit too open when Jon Bentham came free, but Richard Button reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Barrie Burley during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 90th minute, Barrie Burley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Louis Frizzell who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 97thth minute tested the skills of Richard Button when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Zoo fc's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
