Spectators: 5010 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 10) Elstree Brigades F.C's Roy Runberg started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Marian Kaczynski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Warren Darling having to interfere. Warren Darling showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roy Runberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. If Marian Kaczynski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Warren Darling showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marian Kaczynski in the 10th minute of the match. In the 11thth minute of the game Roy Runberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ely FC's Warren Darling was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marian Kaczynski in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Warren Darling prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Elstree Brigades F.C's Roy Runberg in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ely FC's goalie prevented a goal. Warren Darling came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Elstree Brigades F.C's Roy Runberg. But to his dismay, Roy Runberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Thomas Phelps's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eric Linford read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Eric Linford showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Charlie Beverley in the 25th minute of the match. Ely FC's Warren Darling played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marian Kaczynski in the 27th minute of play. Warren Darling made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roy Runberg in the 28th minute of play. Eric Linford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Charlie Beverley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 36 played minutes Ely FC got a freekick which was hit by Philip Beadel. In the 38th minute, Roy Runberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Elstree Brigades F.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Warren Darling showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marian Kaczynski, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. 43 minutes into the match, Marian Kaczynski had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Warren Darling. Ely FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marian Kaczynski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. After the first half Elstree Brigades F.C were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Charlie Beverley to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Ely FC's Barrie Corby got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Ely FC's Charlie Beverley got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 66th minute, Marian Kaczynski left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Elstree Brigades F.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. Roy Runberg was extremely unlucky when he, in the 75th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 77th minute, Roy Runberg fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Warren Darling, passed just outside the right post. Felix Fry received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Warren Darling tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th minute Roy Runberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Warren Darling saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Marian Kaczynski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Warren Darling showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roy Runberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. 87 minutes into the match, Elstree Brigades F.C's Roy Runberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Warren Darling narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Elstree Brigades F.C played a much better game than Ely FC and deserved their victory. The Ely FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
