Ash Charles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ash Charles was a little too slow when Sebastian Revell got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 11th minute. The score was now 1-0. The supporters of Wakefield Vikings booed when Keighley FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Clare didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eric Adamson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Ash Charles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Gordon Patton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 29 minutes, Eric Adamson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Keighley FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eric Adamson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ash Charles was a little too slow when Sebastian Revell got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 2-0. After 34 played minutes Wakefield Vikings got a freekick which was hit by Karl Bryden. If Ritchie Holdcroft had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eric Adamson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Ash Charles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ritchie Holdcroft was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Wakefield Vikings getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Karl Bryden hit a great ball. Ash Charles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Revell in the 52nd minute of play. After 58 played minutes Wakefield Vikings got a freekick which was hit by Karl Bryden. Ash Charles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eric Adamson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sebastian Revell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Ash Charles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sebastian Revell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebastian Revell in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ash Charles saved Wakefield Vikings from getting behind. Ash Charles stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sebastian Revell's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eric Adamson in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ash Charles prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ash Charles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastian Revell, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. In the 81st minute, Sebastian Revell ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ash Charles was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Eric Adamson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Ash Charles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Wakefield Vikings getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Karl Bryden hit a great ball. 87 minutes into the match, Wakefield Vikings's goal looked a bit too open when Eric Adamson came free, but Ash Charles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Drew Powell fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wakefield Vikings's protests and gave Drew Powell a yellow card for diving instead. In the 91st minute there was a penalty for Keighley FC. Sean Clarke stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ash Charles. 5-0. Buster Ashton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ritchie Holdcroft in the 94th minute of the match. When the referee ended the match the Keighley FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
