But to his dismay, Thomas Phelps quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Warren Darling showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lance Leeson in the 17th minute of the match. Jack Bullock had several of the Ely FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 25 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-1 score and a disappointed Warren Darling as he didn't even see the shot coming. Ralph Wring kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Thomas Phelps sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lance Leeson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Charlie Beverley was the one to do the kick off. Chris Warnett made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Thomas Phelps sent off a good shot on target. When Jack Bullock came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Tottenham United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jack Bullock couldn't finish the play. Thomas Phelps fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chris Warnett having to interfere. If Lance Leeson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ralph Wring hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Charlie Beverley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Chris Warnett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chris Warnett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Charlie Beverley in the 92nd minute of the match. After 94 played minutes Tottenham United got a freekick which was hit by Ralph Wring. Tottenham United's Chris Warnett proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Tottenham United from getting a goal against them. Ely FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
