Sean Pearce didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adrian Ackland went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Jo Palmer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Radcliffe-on-Trent's supporters rose to their feet, but Jo Palmer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sean Pearce breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sean Pearce showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Piers Pell in the 27th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, The Boys United's Duncan Newman got a free kick in the 28th minute. The Boys United's Sean Pearce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Piers Pell in the 31st minute of play. Stuart Topham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guy Gerrard having to interfere. 48 minutes into the match, The Boys United's goal looked a bit too open when Piers Pell came free, but Sean Pearce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alexander Elliott stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alexander Elliott received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Guy Gerrard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sean Pearce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jo Palmer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58th minute, Piers Pell ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sean Pearce was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. After 61 played minutes, Radcliffe-on-Trent's Silvester Hold shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sean Pearce came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Radcliffe-on-Trent reached it. In the 64th minute, Stuart Topham got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Casey Lock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Radcliffe-on-Trent's Sly Lawton got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 75 minutes into the game, Piers Pell cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-4. Sean Pearce was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Boys United's Sean Pearce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jo Palmer in the 83rd minute of play. Sean Pearce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Piers Pell, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Alexander Elliott took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Guy Gerrard. Guy Gerrard dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-5. When the match was over The Boys United could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Radcliffe-on-Trent throughout the match.
