Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Stu Hough made the kick off and thus started the match. Karl Fleetwood's late challenge caught a Ashford Fc's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Karl Fleetwood helped the player get up and apologised. Karl Fleetwood kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. In the 6th minute Damien Cheeseman suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Jimmy Cheswick charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jimmy Cheswick the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 7th minute, Jimmy Cheswick hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mick Lomas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Guy Hurst read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Thrybergh AFC's zone, Stu Hough stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guy Hurst came out of the goal and Stu Hough tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ashford Fc's Eddie Wiseman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sean Archer in the 13th minute of play. Guy Hurst came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Ashford Fc's Mick Lomas. But to his dismay, Mick Lomas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. When Ashford Fc's Stu Hough in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Thrybergh AFC's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 26 minutes, Craig Knight managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ashford Fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Craig Knight was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mick Lomas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Guy Hurst made a huge save. In the 31st match minute, Thrybergh AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sean Archer to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Thrybergh AFC's Guy Hurst got control of the ball when Mick Lomas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sean Archer hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Stu Hough's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Guy Hurst was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Guy Hurst showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mick Lomas in the 52nd minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 57 minutes, Eddie Wiseman successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 58 minutes of play Thrybergh AFC's Jimmy Cheswick was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Thrybergh AFC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Jimmy Cheswick hit a great ball. Stu Hough fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guy Hurst having to interfere. Len Beckwith hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. When Mick Lomas came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Ashford Fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mick Lomas couldn't finish the play. In the 80th minute Bryan Warburton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guy Hurst saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 81st minute, Sean Archer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Thrybergh AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Bryan Warburton hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Guy Hurst didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mick Lomas went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score.
