Danny Snowden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Liam Blakewell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 5 minutes into the match, Burton upon Trent FC's goal looked a bit too open when Clive Ellerby came free, but Danny Snowden reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zane Oliver hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Danny Snowden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Liam Blakewell in the 11th minute of play. After 14 minutes, Trevor Bourne mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Burton upon Trent FC and the Birmingham yyw players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Burton upon Trent FC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Trevor Bourne hit a great ball. In the 17th minute Clive Ellerby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danny Snowden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute, Clive Ellerby left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Birmingham yyw fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Birmingham yyw's attack was well implemented in the 23rd minute, but when Clive Ellerby was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. When Birmingham yyw's Liam Blakewell in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Burton upon Trent FC's goalie prevented a goal. If Clive Ellerby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. Clive Ellerby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danny Snowden having to interfere. In the 40th minute Clive Ellerby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danny Snowden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Liam Blakewell in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Danny Snowden saved Burton upon Trent FC from getting behind. Clive Ellerby blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Danny Snowden having to make a save. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Liam Blakewell to make the kick off. Danny Snowden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Liam Blakewell in the 52nd minute of play. Will Ferrell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clive Ellerby could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Danny Snowden made a huge save. With a little luck, Burton upon Trent FC's Danny Snowden got control of the ball when Clive Ellerby tried to sneak it across the goal line. Liam Blakewell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danny Snowden having to interfere. Clive Ellerby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Clive Ellerby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Liam Blakewell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danny Snowden having to interfere. Stan Lansdell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Will Ferrell, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. 76 minutes into the match, Burton upon Trent FC's goal looked a bit too open when Liam Blakewell came free, but Danny Snowden reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Birmingham yyw booed when Burton upon Trent FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trevor Bourne didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Birmingham yyw's Liam Blakewell in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Lance Coe kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Clive Ellerby recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match was over Birmingham yyw could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Burton upon Trent FC throughout the match.
