Burleyham's Blair Zamora got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Pedro Purvis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ronny Woodhead was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedro Purvis in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ronny Woodhead saved Burleyham from getting behind. In the 22nd match minute, Mini Citizens was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Billie Hawkins to maneuver through the defense. In the 25th minute Laurence McKeown shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronny Woodhead saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Purvis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ronny Woodhead prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Burleyham's zone, Laurence McKeown stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ronny Woodhead came out of the goal and Laurence McKeown tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ronny Woodhead showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laurence McKeown, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Blair Zamora to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Marek Alcock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pete Green saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Laurence McKeown who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 58thth minute tested the skills of Ronny Woodhead when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Josh Kellaway's late challenge caught a Mini Citizens's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Josh Kellaway helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Mini Citizens booed when Burleyham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josh Kellaway didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62nd minute, Pedro Purvis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 64 minutes, Laurence McKeown made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Burleyham's Ronny Woodhead tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 67 minutes into the match, Mini Citizens's goal looked a bit too open when Marek Alcock came free, but Pete Green reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronny Woodhead came out and tried to block the shot, but Pedro Purvis slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 86th minute. Laurence McKeown could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Ronny Woodhead made a huge save. Burleyham's Ronny Woodhead played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Purvis in the 93rd minute of play. Laurence McKeown received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Ronny Woodhead tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mini Citizens played a much better game than Burleyham and deserved their victory. The Burleyham players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
