Denzil Barton might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ronny Woodhead. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Denzil Barton ran back to his position shaking his head. Derek Nailor's late challenge caught a Burleyham's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Derek Nailor helped the player get up and apologised. In the 12th minute, Derek Nailor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Chaz Higgins during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 16th match minute, Amhaja was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chaz Higgins to maneuver through the defense. In the 20th minute, Chaz Higgins got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Theo Carlick showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marek Alcock in the 30th minute of the match. When Marek Alcock, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 33 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Theo Carlick was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 37th minute, Denzil Barton made a precise shot to the right of Ronny Woodhead. Burleyham's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. If Blair Zamora had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Theo Carlick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marek Alcock in the 45th minute of play. In the 46th match minute, Amhaja was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by John-Paul Santos to maneuver through the defense. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The audience was convinced that Blair Zamora's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Theo Carlick was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. Blair Zamora recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Marek Alcock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Burleyham's Blair Zamora got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 63 played minutes Burleyham got a freekick which was hit by Luke Longden. The crowd rose to their feet as Burleyham's Blair Zamora slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Theo Carlick. That made the score 1-2 after 70 minutes of play. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Burleyham's goalkeeper Ronny Woodhead, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Amhaja's Derek Nailor got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Denzil Barton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd match minute, Amhaja was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Danny Strongman to maneuver through the defense. If Blair Zamora had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amhaja's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Burleyham the free kick. After a rather tough play, Amhaja's Leon Borrowdale got a free kick in the 96th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Burleyham's Martyn Verity tried to score from far away in the 97th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Burleyham walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
