Spectators: 7495 (Terracing: 5622, Seating: 1724, VIP seats: 149) Potato Chasers's Verne Proctor started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrick Grantham in the 3rd minute of play forced Potato Chasers's goalkeeper Jake Webster to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jake Webster came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Newark's Ian Bannatyne. But to his dismay, Ian Bannatyne quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Eddy Turner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Verne Proctor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Patrick Grantham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Jake Webster tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Verne Proctor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlton Booker might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jake Webster. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carlton Booker ran back to his position shaking his head. After 24 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Potato Chasers! Patrick Grantham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jake Webster having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlton Booker in the 30th minute of play forced Potato Chasers's goalkeeper Jake Webster to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Newark's Patrick Grantham in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Potato Chasers's goalie prevented a goal. 36 minutes into the game, Denny Atkinson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Potato Chasers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Newark the free kick. In the 37th match minute, Potato Chasers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denny Atkinson to maneuver through the defense. Jake Webster made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrick Grantham in the 40th minute of play. Patrick Grantham recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Patrick Grantham made a kick off. Jake Webster made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Carlton Booker sent off a good shot on target. Jermaine Cornish tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Jake Webster. An unnecessary self made goal, 0-2 in the 53rd minute. If Carlton Booker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Denny Atkinson was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 63 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Potato Chasers's Denny Atkinson got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute, Carlton Booker left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Newark fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. If Jools Oates had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 77 minutes, Jools Oates mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Potato Chasers and the Newark players grew even worse after the yellow card. 82 minutes into the match, Potato Chasers's goalkeeper Jake Webster had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carlton Booker. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlton Booker got free with Jake Webster in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ian Bannatyne's late challenge caught a Potato Chasers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ian Bannatyne helped the player get up and apologised. When the final whistle sounded Newark left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Potato Chasers.
