Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Rowner's Len Dunne started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Len Dunne managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rowner's supporters rose to their feet, but Len Dunne was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jake Webster breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Potato Chasers fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 8th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 9 minutes, Rowner's Eddy Kellaway got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jake Webster. Shane Hornsby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Jake Webster tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Rowner's Robert Moxey got a free kick in the 17th minute. Potato Chasers's defense didn't have a chance, in the 20th minute, when Len Dunne scored to the left of an out of position Jake Webster, making the score, 2-0. Shane Hornsby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jake Webster made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Shane Hornsby sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Potato Chasers getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Denny Atkinson hit a great ball. In the 29th minute, Rowner's Shane Hornsby dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. With a little luck, Potato Chasers's Jake Webster got control of the ball when Shane Hornsby tried to sneak it across the goal line. Len Dunne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Jake Webster tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shane Hornsby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jake Webster having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Verne Proctor stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When the match clock showed 55 minutes, the score became 5-0 when Len Dunne sped through Potato Chasers's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jake Webster. Potato Chasers's Jake Webster played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shane Hornsby in the 61st minute of play. The Rowner fans' excitement grew in the 63rd match minute when Rowner's Len Dunne looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Len Dunne in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jake Webster prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Denny Atkinson hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. When Len Dunne came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Rowner fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Len Dunne couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Potato Chasers defense, Shane Hornsby kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jake Webster. The Potato Chasers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jake Webster should have stopped the shot. Jake Webster made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Len Dunne in the 81st minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Potato Chasers fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 82nd minute. Penalty! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by John-Paul Hardcastle during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Rowner's John-Paul Hardcastle got a free kick in the 87th minute. In the 89th minute Shane Hornsby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jake Webster saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Potato Chasers's Kurt Holyfield got a free kick in the 89th minute. Len Dunne blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jake Webster having to make a save. In the 91st minute, Shane Hornsby left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rowner fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 9-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by John-Paul Hardcastle in the 96th minute of play forced Potato Chasers's goalkeeper Jake Webster to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Len Dunne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jake Webster having to interfere. There was no doubt that Rowner were the better team. Rowner's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
