Walter Peyton was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Donny Hamer showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 18 minute of play. A collision led to Putney getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Mick Hicks hit a great ball. Vinnie Hughes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rory Simpson in the 25th minute of play. Dom Unsworth recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rory Simpson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vinnie Hughes having to interfere. Vinnie Hughes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sidney Dalby's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. After some careless play in the Kohala Gunners FC defense, Sidney Dalby kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vinnie Hughes. The Kohala Gunners FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vinnie Hughes should have stopped the shot. Carl Blackburn kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. 38 minutes in the game Brynn Young got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. 41 minutes into the game, Putney's Sidney Dalby nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vinnie Hughes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The Kohala Gunners FC fans' excitement grew in the 79th match minute when Kohala Gunners FC's Donny Hamer looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Vinnie Hughes was annoyed at himself for letting in the shot. Putney's Rory Simpson was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 98th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. When the match was over Putney could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Kohala Gunners FC throughout the match.
