Spectators: 7232 (Terracing: 5632, Seating: 1594, VIP seats: 6) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ged Nelson got the match started through his kick off. Justin Hilton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ged Nelson in the 4th minute of play. If Ged Nelson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Lond-Catford booed when Newbiggin FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugh Sewell didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Phil Langford managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lond-Catford's supporters rose to their feet, but Phil Langford was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Justin Hilton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 18th minute, Hugh Sewell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Newbiggin FC's Justin Hilton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ged Nelson in the 21st minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Ged Nelson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Justin Hilton. That made the score 1-0 in the 30 minute of play. Justin Hilton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ged Nelson in the 33rd minute of the match. Phil Langford's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Justin Hilton firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a rather tough play, Newbiggin FC's Hugh Sewell got a free kick in the 37th minute.

Jeremy Bonham kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Hugh Sewell charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hugh Sewell the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Newbiggin FC's Hugh Sewell got a free kick in the 66th minute. Jeremy Bonham's late challenge caught a Lond-Catford's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jeremy Bonham helped the player get up and apologised. In the 74th minute there was a penalty for Lond-Catford. Leon Edworthy stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Justin Hilton. 2-0. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 78th minute of the game. One of Newbiggin FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lond-Catford:s goal. In the 85th minute, Jack Rowling hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rick Elam made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Bill Portway sent off a good shot on target. Hugh Sewell didn't quite understand what happened when in the 90 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. In the 100th minute, Phil Langford made a precise shot to the right of Justin Hilton. Newbiggin FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Lond-Catford had won after a very even match.
