In the 22nd minute Phil Langford shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stuart Brookes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24th minute of the match Garry Haseldine sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Stuart Brookes skillfully saved the ball. 27 minutes into the game, Ged Nelson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Stuart Brookes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Archie Green sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Co Durham FC's Archie Green got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rick Elam had great luck who in the 46thth minute grab hold of the ball when Andrew Batty from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Archie Green's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rick Elam read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Ged Nelson made the kick off in the second half. Ged Nelson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stuart Brookes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Phil Langford in the 56th minute. Rick Elam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Archie Green in the 58th minute of play. In the 59th match minute, Lond-Catford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lee Dixon to maneuver through the defense. Andrew Batty struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Rick Elam didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Co Durham FC. When Co Durham FC's Andrew Batty in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lond-Catford's goalie prevented a goal. After 70 played minutes Lond-Catford got a freekick which was hit by Jack Rowling. 76 minutes into the match, Andrew Batty notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Lond-Catford's Rick Elam. Rick Elam was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Archie Green received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Rick Elam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jack Rowling charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jack Rowling the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 84 played minutes Lond-Catford got a freekick which was hit by Jack Rowling. Rick Elam showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Archie Green, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. After having played for 89 minutes, Andrew Batty managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Co Durham FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andrew Batty was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jude Featherstone hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. In the 98th minute of the match Lond-Catford got a corner. Co Durham FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Leon Edworthy ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Co Durham FC's goalie and right to Francis Blunt. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Co Durham FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Co Durham FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Lond-Catford for a fine match.
