Ged Nelson started the match with the kick off. Brett Ferdinand received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Rick Elam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Huey Meadowcroft fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rick Elam having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Lond-Catford's Blair Bedford got a free kick in the 6th minute. 11 minutes into the game, Bishops Castle's Huey Meadowcroft nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rick Elam made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 16th minute, Huey Meadowcroft ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rick Elam was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 18th minute, Huey Meadowcroft got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Huey Meadowcroft in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rick Elam saved Lond-Catford from getting behind. Ged Nelson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Alastair Norfolk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute, Piers Burns hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brett Ferdinand in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rick Elam saved Lond-Catford from getting behind. When the match clock showed 34 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Huey Meadowcroft sped through Lond-Catford's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rick Elam. Huey Meadowcroft received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Rick Elam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rick Elam took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Huey Meadowcroft, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Brett Ferdinand had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 48 minutes into the game, Bishops Castle's Huey Meadowcroft nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rick Elam made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Huey Meadowcroft made a kick off. With a little luck, Lond-Catford's Rick Elam got control of the ball when Brett Ferdinand tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Brett Ferdinand managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bishops Castle's supporters rose to their feet, but Brett Ferdinand was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rick Elam breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Huey Meadowcroft fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rick Elam having to interfere. Rick Elam made an important save on a dangerous shot by Huey Meadowcroft in the 73rd minute. Brett Ferdinand received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Rick Elam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alastair Norfolk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ged Nelson in the 78th minute of play. A collision led to Bishops Castle getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Felix Prutton hit a great ball. Huey Meadowcroft received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Rick Elam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Brett Ferdinand had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute Ged Nelson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alastair Norfolk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brett Ferdinand could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Rick Elam made a huge save. If Huey Meadowcroft had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 98 minutes into the match, Lond-Catford's goal looked a bit too open when Huey Meadowcroft came free, but Rick Elam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over Bishops Castle could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Lond-Catford throughout the match.
