Spectators: 7570 (Terracing: 5679, Seating: 1740, VIP seats: 151) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Rory Maylett took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 6th minute, Rory Maylett made a precise shot to the right of Justin Hilton. Newbiggin FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 9 minutes into the match, Newbiggin FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rory Maylett came free, but Justin Hilton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Newbiggin FC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Sebastien Rush hit a great ball. After 16 played minutes Newbiggin FC got a freekick which was hit by Hugh Sewell. After recieving a nice pass, Ryde Warriors's Teddy Whalley tried to score from far away in the 17th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Bill Portway hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Ryde Warriors made a substitution. Wally Hanson replaced Wayne Denham. After a rather tough play, Newbiggin FC's Jeremy Bonham got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 25th minute of the match Teddy Whalley shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Justin Hilton showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 30th match minute, Newbiggin FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bill Portway to maneuver through the defense. Justin Hilton made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Wally Hanson sent off a good shot on target. Justin Hilton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wally Hanson in the 38th minute. In the 39th minute, Tom Stockdale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 45 minutes, Rory Maylett made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Newbiggin FC's Justin Hilton tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hugh Sewell made a kick off. In the 55th minute Rory Maylett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Justin Hilton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sebastien Rush kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. In the 61st minute Lewis Horsey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Justin Hilton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Newbiggin FC defense, Rory Maylett kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Justin Hilton. The Newbiggin FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Justin Hilton should have stopped the shot. Wally Hanson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 80th minute, Wally Hanson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ryde Warriors fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Wally Hanson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Rory Maylett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 88 minutes of play, Ryde Warriors's Wally Hanson made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Justin Hilton was left in no man's land by his defense there! Wally Hanson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Justin Hilton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Justin Hilton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rory Maylett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 96th minute Wally Hanson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Justin Hilton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
