Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Sam Warner started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Newbiggin FC's Conal Jepson quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Reggie Grantham, made in the 3rd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lloyd Lennon in the 5th minute of play forced Newbiggin FC's goalkeeper Justin Hilton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Justin Hilton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lloyd Lennon in the 7th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Newbiggin FC's zone, Sam Warner stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Justin Hilton came out of the goal and Sam Warner tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jeremy Bonham was extremely unlucky when he, in the 11th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After a rather tough play, Newbiggin FC's Sebastien Rush got a free kick in the 13th minute. Justin Hilton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sam Warner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sebastien Rush kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. A collision led to Newbiggin FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Ralf Hopton hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sam Warner in the 30th minute of play forced Newbiggin FC's goalkeeper Justin Hilton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tom Stockdale kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. If Lloyd Lennon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Justin Hilton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sam Warner in the 36th minute of play. After 39 minutes of play Newbiggin FC's Sebastien Rush was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Sebastien Rush hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Justin Hilton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reggie Grantham in the 45th minute of the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Hugh Sewell missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 64 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Vernon Hall right hand side. Tom Stockdale kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sam Warner in the 74th minute of play forced Newbiggin FC's goalkeeper Justin Hilton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vernon Hall showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugh Sewell, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Sam Warner in the 82ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Justin Hilton, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Reggie Grantham made in the 88th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Bart Lawson immediately put the ball in play. Justin Hilton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sam Warner in the 94th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sam Warner in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Justin Hilton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Lovedean eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
