Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Huey Meadowcroft kicked off to start the match. After 11 played minutes, Bishops Castle's Ralph Gates shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sly Schofield came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bishops Castle reached it. Northallerton's Sly Schofield proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Northallerton from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Northallerton's zone, Huey Meadowcroft stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sly Schofield came out of the goal and Huey Meadowcroft tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Huey Meadowcroft in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sly Schofield prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Huey Meadowcroft's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sly Schofield read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. After 23 played minutes Northallerton got a freekick which was hit by Michael Merchant. After 26 minutes, Sammy Flack mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Northallerton and the Bishops Castle players grew even worse after the yellow card. Brett Ferdinand fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sly Schofield having to interfere. John-Paul Bloom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 33 minutes into the match, Northallerton's goal looked a bit too open when Huey Meadowcroft came free, but Sly Schofield reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Northallerton's Sly Schofield played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Huey Meadowcroft in the 35th minute of play. Alastair Norfolk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John-Paul Bloom in the 36th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Northallerton's Sammy Flack got a free kick in the 37th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Brett Ferdinand could shoot a difficult shot in the 40th minute, which Sly Schofield however easily saved by the left post. Bishops Castle's Alastair Norfolk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mike Wardill in the 43rd minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. John-Paul Bloom was the one to do the kick off. Northallerton's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Brett Ferdinand was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. 87 minutes into the match, Northallerton's goal looked a bit too open when Huey Meadowcroft came free, but Sly Schofield reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sly Schofield showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brett Ferdinand, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. 92 minutes into the match, Northallerton's goal looked a bit too open when Brett Ferdinand came free, but Sly Schofield reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Huey Meadowcroft had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sly Schofield didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Brett Ferdinand went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Bishops Castle fans cheered their team off the field, for while Northallerton had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
