After 2 played minutes Newbiggin FC got a freekick which was hit by Jeremy Bonham. Justin Hilton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rory Maylett, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Justin Hilton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wayne Denham, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Newbiggin FC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Tom Stockdale hit a great ball. 13 minutes into the match, Rory Maylett had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Justin Hilton. Newbiggin FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rory Maylett was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The audience was convinced that Wayne Denham's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Justin Hilton was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. In the 18th match minute, Newbiggin FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conal Jepson to maneuver through the defense. In the 23rdth minute of the game Rory Maylett who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Newbiggin FC's Justin Hilton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Wayne Denham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Justin Hilton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Justin Hilton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rory Maylett in the 35th minute of play. Lewis Horsey struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Justin Hilton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ryde Warriors. 39 minutes into the match, Newbiggin FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rory Maylett came free, but Justin Hilton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Wayne Denham ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Justin Hilton was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rory Maylett in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Justin Hilton prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sebastien Rush was the one to do the kick off. The long shot by Teddy Whalley in the 52nd minute really tested Justin Hilton's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 53rd match minute, Newbiggin FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conal Jepson to maneuver through the defense. Rory Maylett received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Justin Hilton came out and tried to block the shot, but Rory Maylett slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 55th minute. A collision led to Newbiggin FC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Tom Stockdale hit a great ball. If Rory Maylett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 63rd minute, Sebastien Rush hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Ryde Warriors booed when Newbiggin FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeremy Bonham didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Ryde Warriors's Justin Hilton threw himself towards the right post 69 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Martyn Burnett, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 71 minutes into the match, Newbiggin FC's goalkeeper Justin Hilton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wayne Denham. Wayne Denham's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 77thth minute, Justin Hilton skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 81st minute, Wayne Denham ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Justin Hilton was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Wayne Denham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justin Hilton having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rory Maylett in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Justin Hilton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Wayne Denham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 94 minutes, Tom Stockdale mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Newbiggin FC and the Ryde Warriors players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Newbiggin FC getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Tom Stockdale hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rory Maylett in the 96th minute of play forced Newbiggin FC's goalkeeper Justin Hilton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ryde Warriors's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
