Ged Nelson succeeded in the game's 13th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. If Ged Nelson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vernon Hall made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ged Nelson in the 29th minute of play. With a little luck, Lovedean's Vernon Hall got control of the ball when Phil Langford tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 33 minutes, Wes Cheswick mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lovedean and the Lond-Catford players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Lovedean getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Wes Cheswick hit a great ball. When Lond-Catford's Ged Nelson in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lovedean's goalie prevented a goal. Jack Rowling charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Rick Elam showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sam Warner, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ged Nelson to strike the kick off in the second half. Ged Nelson struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Vernon Hall didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lond-Catford. Rick Elam showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sam Warner, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Rick Elam took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sam Warner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sam Warner struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Rick Elam didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lovedean. In the 75th minute, Lovedean's Sam Warner dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Lovedean were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
