Spectators: 7492 (Terracing: 5620, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 149) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Sebastien Rush took the kick off in the first half of the match. After having played for 4 minutes, Stephen Mimms managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brabusss's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stephen Mimms was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geoff Quinn in the 9th minute of play forced Newbiggin FC's goalkeeper Justin Hilton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Newbiggin FC's goalkeeper Justin Hilton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Geoff Quinn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Geoff Quinn charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Geoff Quinn the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Brabusss's Geoff Quinn got a free kick in the 16th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stephen Mimms in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Justin Hilton saved Newbiggin FC from getting behind. After 20 minutes, Hugh Sewell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Newbiggin FC and the Brabusss players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hugh Sewell hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Geoff Quinn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brabusss's supporters rose to their feet, but Geoff Quinn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Justin Hilton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Geoff Impey's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Justin Hilton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Newbiggin FC's goalkeeper Justin Hilton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stephen Mimms. Geoff Quinn received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Justin Hilton came out and tried to block the shot, but Geoff Quinn slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 45th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stephen Mimms stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Stephen Mimms had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Geoff Quinn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Justin Hilton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th match minute, Brabusss was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sacha Gibbons to maneuver through the defense. 70 minutes into the match, Brabusss's goalkeeper Johnathan Shaw had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bill Portway. After 73 played minutes Newbiggin FC got a freekick which was hit by Eric Crosby. If Stephen Mimms had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 76 minutes into the match, Stephen Mimms notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Newbiggin FC's Justin Hilton. Justin Hilton was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 81st minute, Tom Stockdale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. During the 91st minute of the match Hugh Sewell completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Hugh Sewell a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Brabusss booed when Newbiggin FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugh Sewell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brabusss's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
