An unexpectedly hard shot by Phil Langford in the 47th minute of play forced Newbiggin FC's goalkeeper Justin Hilton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

In the 51st minute, Lond-Catford's Phil Langford ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Justin Hilton. But to his dismay, Jack Rowling quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 66th minute, Ged Nelson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Justin Hilton. The goal made the score 0-4. The audience thought a goal was coming when Phil Langford got free with Justin Hilton in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Newbiggin FC's Justin Hilton got control of the ball when Phil Langford tried to sneak it across the goal line. Justin Hilton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ged Nelson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Lond-Catford walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
