After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Austin Humphreys managed to get in a good position for a shot. Portchester's supporters rose to their feet, but Austin Humphreys was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marty Garner-Currie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Donny Rose took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ian Winterbine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marty Garner-Currie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Austin Humphreys in the 24th minute of the match. 27 minutes into the match, Portchester's goal looked a bit too open when Zane Gamble came free, but Donny Rose reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Portchester's zone, Zane Gamble stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Donny Rose came out of the goal and Zane Gamble tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ian Winterbine who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 42ndth minute tested the skills of Donny Rose when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Portchester's Conan Lewington got a free kick in the 42nd minute. When Leroy Baxter fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Portchester's protests and gave Leroy Baxter a yellow card for diving instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pat Gallagher to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Superswale's zone, Austin Humphreys stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marty Garner-Currie came out of the goal and Austin Humphreys tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Austen Keyworth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pat Gallagher in the 61st minute of play forced Portchester's goalkeeper Donny Rose to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute, Pat Gallagher left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Superswale fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After 68 played minutes Portchester got a freekick which was hit by Bob Hislop. 69 minutes into the game, Austin Humphreys was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Portchester's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Superswale the free kick. A collision led to Portchester getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Austin Humphreys hit a great ball. Superswale's Zane Gamble got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Oliver Street's late challenge caught a Superswale's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oliver Street helped the player get up and apologised. In the 75th match minute, Portchester was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oliver Street to maneuver through the defense. In the 80th minute Pat Gallagher shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donny Rose saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had been going on for 91 minutes, Portchester's Grant Eslworth got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Marty Garner-Currie. Austin Humphreys sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Superswale were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Portchester to leave the ground with a draw.
