Marty Garner-Currie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sammy Billington in the 44th minute of the match. Zane Gamble received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Toby Marenghi came out and tried to block the shot, but Zane Gamble slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 47th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Sammy Billington fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marty Garner-Currie having to interfere. Ian Winterbine's late challenge caught a Henleaze Athletic FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ian Winterbine helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Superswale's Ian Winterbine got a free kick in the 55th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ian Winterbine in the 60th minute of play forced Henleaze Athletic FC's goalkeeper Toby Marenghi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
