Timperley's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Kennington the free kick. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Timperley's goalkeeper Ronnie Deveraux, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felix Gamble in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ronnie Deveraux saved Timperley from getting behind. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Den Pinder to strike the kick off in the second half. Deon Coulthard's late challenge caught a FC Kennington's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ronnie Deveraux showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Gamble, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute.
