Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 150) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Vince Doona kicked off to start the match. Timperley's Huey Van Der Hoorn shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 5th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Felix Bower but with some difficulty. In the 6th match minute, Tunafish FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norman Walls to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 7 minutes, Alec Bodsworth managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Timperley's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alec Bodsworth was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Rupert Dryden fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tunafish FC's protests and gave Rupert Dryden a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Tunafish FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 10th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Felix Bower, was totally fooled by Timperley's Caleb Chadwick, who 12 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After 18 minutes, Benjamin Horsell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Timperley and the Tunafish FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 18 played minutes Timperley got a freekick which was hit by Benjamin Horsell. When Vince Doona came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Tunafish FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vince Doona couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vince Doona in the 26th minute of play forced Timperley's goalkeeper Ronnie Deveraux to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Timperley booed when Tunafish FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Neil Boland didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vince Doona hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. A collision led to Timperley getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Benjamin Horsell hit a great ball. In the 47th minute Kurt Butcher shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronnie Deveraux saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
Ronnie Deveraux made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vince Doona in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rd minute, Francis Shakespeare hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Vince Doona came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Tunafish FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vince Doona couldn't finish the play. 56 minutes into the game, Tunafish FC's Kurt Butcher nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ronnie Deveraux made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Vince Doona in the 59thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ronnie Deveraux, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a defensive mix-up in Timperley's zone, Vince Doona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ronnie Deveraux came out of the goal and Vince Doona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 68th minute of the match, Norman Walls got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ronnie Deveraux was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Kurt Butcher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronnie Deveraux having to interfere. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Timperley reached it. Vince Doona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Vince Doona managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tunafish FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vince Doona was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronnie Deveraux breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vince Doona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronnie Deveraux having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rodney Frost during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 97th minute, Rodney Frost hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Despite being the better team, Tunafish FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
