The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Calum Bland during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 2nd minute of the game. One of Lindfield:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Great Addington:s goal. Martyn Branch shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. When Tris Gardner came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Great Addington fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tris Gardner couldn't finish the play. Great Addington's Teddy Lucas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Keanu Postolan in the 10th minute of play. Matthew Hampton hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Craig Downing fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teddy Lucas having to interfere. After 12 played minutes Great Addington got a freekick which was hit by Matthew Hampton. In the 17thth minute of the game Lucas Cambridge who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lindfield's Rex Brennan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With 18 minutes on the clock, Daryl Adcock commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 19th match minute, Lindfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daryl Adcock to maneuver through the defense. It was beautiful to see Great Addington's Reggie Lansdell in action when he in the 20th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! With a little luck, Great Addington's Teddy Lucas got control of the ball when Craig Downing tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rex Brennan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tris Gardner in the 29th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Great Addington's Lucas Cambridge sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rex Brennan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tris Gardner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rex Brennan having to interfere. Craig Downing sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lucas Cambridge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 43rd match minute, Great Addington was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Danny Duffy to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Lindfield's zone, Lucas Cambridge stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rex Brennan came out of the goal and Lucas Cambridge tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Lindfield players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Great Addington were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lucas Cambridge to make the kick off. Tris Gardner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Great Addington's Matthew Hampton got a free kick in the 54th minute. After 55 played minutes Lindfield got a freekick which was hit by Doug Bright. Craig Downing fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teddy Lucas having to interfere. After having played for 66 minutes, Craig Downing managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lindfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Craig Downing was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lenny Stockley's late challenge caught a Great Addington's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lenny Stockley helped the player get up and apologised. In the 70th minute, Lenny Stockley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With an all-out effort, Great Addington's Rex Brennan threw himself towards the right post 75 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Lucas Cambridge, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After having played for 80 minutes, Tris Gardner managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Great Addington's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tris Gardner was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 86th minute, Lucas Cambridge got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Ed Peyton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Great Addington's supporters rose to their feet, but Ed Peyton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rex Brennan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tris Gardner could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Rex Brennan made a huge save. Lenny Stockley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Teddy Lucas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Great Addington's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
