Piers Postolans short, quick shot in the 32ndth minute got Caleb Mumford to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Louis Roche made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 曲帆克 in the 34th minute of play. Piers Postolan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Caleb Mumford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Nicu Mușătescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Lewis Nelthorpe made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Graeme Jobling during the 62nd minute. Helsby United's Louis Roche proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Helsby United from getting a goal against them. Caleb Mumford came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Helsby United's Graeme Jobling. But to his dismay, Graeme Jobling quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. Despite being the better team, Waltham Cross failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
