A hard shot by Blair Speight from long distance, 16 minutes into the match, got Marty Newbury's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Jay Harris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sean Millman, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 32nd minute, Sean Millman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jay Harris was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The Milnrow Uni fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harvey Hill in the 44th minute of play forced Zyerpaus's goalkeeper Jay Harris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The Zyerpaus fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jay Harris should have stopped the shot. In the 91st minute Sid Bedford shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jay Harris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Milnrow Uni left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Zyerpaus.
