Spectators: 7981 (Terracing: 5987, Seating: 1835, VIP seats: 159) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Kurt Waller started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Wooler getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Robert Ridgeway hit a great ball. Joseph Mortimer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kurt Waller's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. 7 minutes into the match, Wooler's goal looked a bit too open when Kurt Waller came free, but Joseph Mortimer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard shot 8 in the game by Joe Whalley from a close distance when the talented Joseph Mortimer managed to make a qualified save. Wooler's players were relieved. Joseph Mortimer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kurt Waller, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ash Day hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. If Aaron Tomkins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joe Whalley got free with Joseph Mortimer in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Joseph Mortimer made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Joe Whalley sent off a good shot on target. In the 31st minute Kurt Waller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph Mortimer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wooler's Joseph Mortimer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Wooler from getting a goal against them. Hugh Houghton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anthony Ellerton in the 33rd minute of play. Warren Bowland hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Warren Bowland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Joseph Mortimer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, Kurt Waller notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Wooler's Joseph Mortimer. Joseph Mortimer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 47 minutes, Glenn Sollit managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wooler's supporters crossed their fingers, but Glenn Sollit was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Glenn Sollit made a kick off. 59 minutes into the game, Theale AVFC's Zane Seagrave nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joseph Mortimer made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Joseph Mortimer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joe Whalley in the 62nd minute of play. Robert Ridgeway kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Joseph Mortimer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kurt Waller, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute Kurt Waller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph Mortimer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joseph Mortimer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joe Whalley in the 67th minute of the match. After 68 played minutes Theale AVFC got a freekick which was hit by Zane Seagrave. 77 minutes into the game, Kurt Waller cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Joseph Mortimer was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 81st minute Joe Whalley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph Mortimer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 85 minutes into the match, Wooler's goal looked a bit too open when Joe Whalley came free, but Joseph Mortimer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 94th match minute, Theale AVFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kurt Waller to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Wooler defense, Zane Seagrave kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joseph Mortimer. The Wooler fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joseph Mortimer should have stopped the shot. Theale AVFC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
