After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Alf Klint managed to get in a good position for a shot. Staffy Terrier FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alf Klint was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rex Brennan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alex Zanardi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 9 minutes into the match, Lindfield's goal looked a bit too open when Alex Zanardi came free, but Rex Brennan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 11 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Alex Zanardi sped through Lindfield's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rex Brennan. In the 15th minute, Daryl Adcock hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 17 played minutes Lindfield got a freekick which was hit by Sebastian Harris. Clive Holloway received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Rex Brennan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Lindfield's zone, Pepe Guardiola stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rex Brennan came out of the goal and Pepe Guardiola tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rex Brennan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pepe Guardiola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pepe Guardiola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rex Brennan having to interfere. In the 33rd minute, Calum Bland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Daryl Adcock during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 38th match minute, Lindfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daryl Adcock to maneuver through the defense. Clive Holloway fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rex Brennan having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Keanu Postolan in the 43rd minute of play forced Staffy Terrier FC's goalkeeper Andrew Harrison to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Staffy Terrier FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Keanu Postolan made the kick off in the second half. Rex Brennan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clive Holloway, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Pepe Guardiola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Pepe Guardiola took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Rex Brennan to make any attempt to save it. 63 minutes into the match, Staffy Terrier FC's Clive Holloway sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rex Brennan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Clive Holloway struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Rex Brennan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Staffy Terrier FC. Staffy Terrier FC's Pepe Guardiola got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pepe Guardiola blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rex Brennan having to make a save. After 82 minutes of play, Staffy Terrier FC's Pepe Guardiola made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rex Brennan was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Clive Holloway had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over Staffy Terrier FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Lindfield throughout the match.
