Alf Klint fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugh Houghton having to interfere. Zane Seagrave charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zane Seagrave the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 25th minute, Zane Seagrave hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Staffy Terrier FC's Clive Holloway got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joe Whalley got free with Andrew Harrison in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Clive Holloway received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Hugh Houghton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Clive Holloway had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hugh Houghton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clive Holloway, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Joe Whalley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Staffy Terrier FC's Clive Holloway got a free kick in the 56th minute. A collision led to Theale AVFC getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Nick Lawless hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Theale AVFC defense, Pepe Guardiola kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hugh Houghton. The Theale AVFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hugh Houghton should have stopped the shot. Drew Hill's late challenge caught a Staffy Terrier FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Drew Hill helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Theale AVFC's Drew Hill got a free kick in the 66th minute. After 69 minutes of play, Staffy Terrier FC's Pepe Guardiola made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hugh Houghton was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Clive Holloway had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 75 minutes into the match, Theale AVFC's goalkeeper Hugh Houghton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pepe Guardiola. The supporters of Staffy Terrier FC booed when Theale AVFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernie Lucas didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clive Holloway in the 78th minute of play forced Theale AVFC's goalkeeper Hugh Houghton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kurt Waller in the 81st minute of play forced Staffy Terrier FC's goalkeeper Andrew Harrison to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Staffy Terrier FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
