Johnnie Trotter hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Helsby United's Louis Roche played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conal Styles in the 10th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kristian Longthorn in the 12th minute of play forced Helsby United's goalkeeper Louis Roche to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Louis Roche made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conal Styles in the 14th minute of play. With a little luck, India FC's Wesley Brookman got control of the ball when Piers Postolan tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 16th minute, Helsby United's Piers Postolan ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Wesley Brookman. Wesley Brookman yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. The supporters of India FC booed when Helsby United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Huey Hinchcliffe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Louis Roche took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Austen Carragher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Helsby United's Marc Rayner got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Helsby United's Piers Postolan was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 29th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. A collision led to Helsby United getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Kristopher Willmott hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Piers Postolan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Helsby United's supporters rose to their feet, but Piers Postolan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wesley Brookman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kristian Longthorn took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Louis Roche. Louis Roche dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. After 42 minutes, Kristopher Willmott mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Helsby United and the India FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 42 played minutes Helsby United got a freekick which was hit by Kristopher Willmott. Louis Roche took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Austen Carragher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Piers Postolan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 55 minutes into the game, Helsby United's Graeme Jobling nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wesley Brookman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Huey Hinchcliffe hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Louis Roche made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nigel Bale in the 58th minute of play. Louis Roche showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nigel Bale, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Louis Roche was a little too slow when Nigel Bale got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 63rd minute. The score was now 3-2. Louis Roche made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nigel Bale in the 69th minute of play. The supporters of India FC booed when Helsby United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marc Rayner didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Graeme Jobling in the 76th minute of play forced India FC's goalkeeper Wesley Brookman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Helsby United's Piers Postolan in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye India FC's goalie prevented a goal. Louis Roche made an important save on a dangerous shot by Austen Carragher in the 81st minute. In the 82nd minute, Conal Styles left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The India FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. Helsby United's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Nigel Bale 88 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-4. After 94 played minutes Helsby United got a freekick which was hit by Jo Platt. Austen Carragher recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Helsby United fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. India FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
