Zyerpaus's supporters rose to their feet, but Joey Reading was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hugh Houghton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Joey Reading had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Blair Speight fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugh Houghton having to interfere. The supporters of Theale AVFC booed when Zyerpaus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camron Hird didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Kurt Waller managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zane Seagrave's late challenge caught a Zyerpaus's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zane Seagrave helped the player get up and apologised. Joey Reading's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hugh Houghton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 50th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kurt Waller to make the kick off. Zane Seagrave could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Jay Harris made a huge save. The Zyerpaus fans cheered their team off the field, for while Theale AVFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
