The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Kristopher Willmott the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Helsby United protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Kristopher Willmott had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 13th minute, one of Helsby United:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Helsby United. Keanu Postolan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Louis Roche made an important save on a dangerous shot by Craig Downing in the 21st minute. 22 minutes into the game, Keanu Postolan recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Louis Roche. Keanu Postolan showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. If Craig Downing had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Louis Roche showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lenny Stockley in the 34th minute of the match. If Rod Bond had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rex Brennan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Piers Postolan went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Piers Postolan in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rex Brennan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Piers Postolan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Louis Roche made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lenny Stockley in the 52nd minute of play. Rex Brennan stood somewhat misplaced when Piers Postolan came free in front of goal and shot 3-3 to the left of him in the 54 minute. 65 minutes into the match, Helsby United's goal looked a bit too open when Keanu Postolan came free, but Louis Roche reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Trey Shipley during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Helsby United booed when Lindfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trey Shipley didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th minute, Graeme Jobling hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Helsby United defense, Craig Downing kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Louis Roche. The Helsby United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Louis Roche should have stopped the shot.
