With an all-out effort, Milnrow Uni's Teddy Lucas threw himself towards the right post 8 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Sid Bedford, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a little luck, Great Addington's Teddy Lucas got control of the ball when Sean Millman tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 18th match minute, Great Addington was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucas Cambridge to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Milnrow Uni defense, Lucas Cambridge kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marty Newbury. The Milnrow Uni fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marty Newbury should have stopped the shot. In the 36th minute, Gary Duxbury hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Great Addington's Teddy Lucas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reuben Cornish in the 38th minute of play. Teddy Lucas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sid Bedford in the 41st minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Milnrow Uni's Sid Bedford slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Teddy Lucas. That made the score 1-2 after 43 minutes of play. 47 minutes into the match, Milnrow Uni's goal looked a bit too open when Martyn Branch came free, but Marty Newbury reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Great Addington were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Lucas Cambridge made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Harvey Hill during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Milnrow Uni's Harvey Hill got a free kick in the 51st minute. Harvey Hill scored 2-2 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Teddy Lucas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Teddy Lucas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sid Bedford, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Great Addington's Tristan Lagdon got a free kick in the 60th minute. Sid Bedford received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Teddy Lucas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Teddy Lucas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reuben Cornish in the 69th minute of the match. Tris Gardner could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Marty Newbury made a huge save. 72 minutes into the game, Milnrow Uni's Harvey Hill nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Teddy Lucas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. A collision led to Great Addington getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Martyn Branch hit a great ball. In the 78th minute, Tris Gardner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 79 played minutes Great Addington got a freekick which was hit by Tristan Lagdon. If Sean Millman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 85 minutes into the match, Great Addington's goal looked a bit too open when Harvey Hill came free, but Teddy Lucas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Milnrow Uni's Sid Bedford in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Sid Bedford ran back to his position shaking his head. Teddy Lucas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reuben Cornish in the 93rd minute of play. Milnrow Uni's Marty Newbury played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martyn Branch in the 95th minute of play.
