Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Nigel Bale got the match started through his kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Johnnie Trotter got free with Rex Brennan in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lenny Stockley hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 24th minute Nigel Bale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rex Brennan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wesley Brookman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Craig Downing in the 28th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the game, Timothy Milton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. After 53 played minutes Lindfield got a freekick which was hit by Sebastian Harris. India FC's Nigel Bale got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Austen Carragher recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 61 minutes into the game, Austen Carragher cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Rex Brennan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Austen Carragher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nigel Bale in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rex Brennan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Austen Carragher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Austen Carragher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rex Brennan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Austen Carragher, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Lindfield's supporters rose to their feet, but Craig Downing was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wesley Brookman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lindfield's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
