After 8 minutes, Reg Kent mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Great Addington and the Theale AVFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Lucas Cambridge came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Great Addington fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucas Cambridge couldn't finish the play. 59 minutes into the match, Tris Gardner dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Hugh Houghton, 2-1. 66 minutes into the match, Zane Seagrave notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Great Addington's Teddy Lucas. Teddy Lucas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lucas Cambridge struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Hugh Houghton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Great Addington. Ed Peyton could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Hugh Houghton made a huge save. After 72 played minutes Theale AVFC got a freekick which was hit by Zane Seagrave. Joey Scholey was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 81 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Theale AVFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 80th minute. Penalty! For all the effort they put into the match, the Great Addington players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Theale AVFC.
