Wes Hurren started the match with the kick off. Luke Newlyn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johnnie Roche in the 3rd minute of play. The supporters of Fakenham booed when FIVE Wizards was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wally Grayson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, FIVE Wizards's Chesney Duffield got a free kick in the 7th minute. After 9 minutes of play, Fakenham's Johnnie Roche made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luke Newlyn was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Johnnie Roche in the 16th minute of play forced FIVE Wizards's goalkeeper Luke Newlyn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute, FIVE Wizards's Howard Howard ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Kristopher Rowell. Kristopher Rowell yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. In the 24thth minute of the game Howard Howard who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fakenham's Kristopher Rowell was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luke Newlyn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rupert Barton in the 28th minute of the match. In the 31st minute of the game Rupert Shephard made a throw-in which Rupert Barton played forward. Fakenham's Wes Hurren pulled a muscle in his leg after 35 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 39th minute, Wally Grayson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Fakenham's zone, Howard Howard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kristopher Rowell came out of the goal and Howard Howard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 44 minutes into the match, FIVE Wizards's goal looked a bit too open when Tris Willmott came free, but Luke Newlyn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rupert Barton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Howard Howard made a kick off.
