Carlisle United's supporters rose to their feet, but Stephen Gale was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Noel Bullock breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Killer Giants FC booed when Carlisle United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nial Edmonton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aaron Griffiths hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Noel Bullock made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stephen Gale in the 17th minute of play. Killer Giants FC's Noel Bullock proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Killer Giants FC from getting a goal against them. 30 minutes into the game, Ronnie Hylton recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Noel Bullock. Ronnie Hylton showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. When Aaron Griffiths came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Killer Giants FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aaron Griffiths couldn't finish the play. Nial Edmonton kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. After 38 played minutes Killer Giants FC got a freekick which was hit by Trey Ely. After having played for 39 minutes, Stephen Gale managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carlisle United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stephen Gale was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 42 minutes into the game, Ritchie Knight-Percival cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Rufus Marchant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Aaron Griffiths had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

After a defensive mix-up in Carlisle United's zone, Ritchie Knight-Percival stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rufus Marchant came out of the goal and Ritchie Knight-Percival tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ritchie Knight-Percival struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Rufus Marchant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Killer Giants FC. 60 minutes into the game, Dom Mills was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Killer Giants FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carlisle United the free kick. 64 minutes into the game, Stephen Gale cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Noel Bullock was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Stephen Gale might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Noel Bullock. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Carlisle United.
