He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Ruben Lynam made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Lawrence Holdsworth sent off a good shot on target. Ruben Lynam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John Ricketts in the 12th minute of play. Yarmouth Celtic's Ruben Lynam proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Yarmouth Celtic from getting a goal against them. In the 18th minute, Lawrence Holdsworth ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ruben Lynam was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. With a little luck, Yarmouth Celtic's Ruben Lynam got control of the ball when Lawrence Holdsworth tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Yarmouth Celtic getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Rufus Sheehan hit a great ball. 30 minutes into the game, Seb Nelson threw the ball into play from the sideline. Yarmouth Celtic's Nicky Togwell quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. John Ricketts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruben Lynam having to interfere. Ralf Picker hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Ricketts in the 41st minute of play forced Yarmouth Celtic's goalkeeper Ruben Lynam to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th minute of the match, John Ricketts tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ruben Lynam saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ruben Lynam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from John Ricketts in the 45th minute of the match. Stevenage's Lawrence Holdsworth came free and shot a quick shot against goal 48 minutes in the game, fortunately Ruben Lynam had problems saving as it came toward the left post.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell John Ricketts to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Yarmouth Celtic's goal looked a bit too open when John Ricketts came free, but Ruben Lynam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stevenage's Quentin Herring pulled a muscle in his back after 54 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 55 minutes, Denny Pell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yarmouth Celtic and the Stevenage players grew even worse after the yellow card. Denny Pell kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Ruben Lynam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lawrence Holdsworth in the 56th minute of play. Lawrence Holdsworth scored 2-0 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ruben Lynam, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Seb Nelson during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Stevenage's Seb Nelson got a free kick in the 67th minute. In the 70th minute Lawrence Holdsworth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruben Lynam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ruben Lynam stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mike Leach's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. Ruben Lynam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lawrence Holdsworth in the 74th minute of play. Lawrence Holdsworth recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Seb Nelson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruben Lynam having to interfere. Lawrence Holdsworth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lawrence Holdsworth took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ruben Lynam. Ruben Lynam dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. A collision led to Yarmouth Celtic getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Rufus Sheehan hit a great ball. Ruben Lynam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lawrence Holdsworth in the 87th minute of play. If Crispin Tabb had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Yarmouth Celtic booed when Stevenage was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tony Harrington didn't get a good kick on the ball. Denny Pell was shown his second yellow card after 91 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 92nd minute, Denny Pell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Lawrence Holdsworth fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stevenage's protests and gave Lawrence Holdsworth a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Yarmouth Celtic booed when Stevenage was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lawrence Holdsworth didn't get a good kick on the ball. There was no doubt that Stevenage were the better team. Stevenage's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
