Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Kenny Ruddock started the match with the kick off. After some careless play in the ᗩᑎᗩᕼᗴᎥᗰ ᗪᑌᑕᛕᔕ defense, Jonathan Dunning kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Chesney Bastow. The ᗩᑎᗩᕼᗴᎥᗰ ᗪᑌᑕᛕᔕ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Chesney Bastow should have stopped the shot. When Owen Bishop fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ᗩᑎᗩᕼᗴᎥᗰ ᗪᑌᑕᛕᔕ's protests and gave Owen Bishop a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Isle of Wight FC booed when ᗩᑎᗩᕼᗴᎥᗰ ᗪᑌᑕᛕᔕ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Owen Bishop didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chesney Bastow was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Huey Kaye. Tommy Pullen came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by ᗩᑎᗩᕼᗴᎥᗰ ᗪᑌᑕᛕᔕ's Gerry Bibby. But to his dismay, Gerry Bibby quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 13th minute Gerry Bibby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Pullen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th minute Kenny Ruddock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chesney Bastow saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chesney Bastow made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kenny Ruddock in the 17th minute of play. Rhys Kinsey made in the 19th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by ᗩᑎᗩᕼᗴᎥᗰ ᗪᑌᑕᛕᔕ's Darren Metcalf. When Darren Metcalf came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the ᗩᑎᗩᕼᗴᎥᗰ ᗪᑌᑕᛕᔕ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Darren Metcalf couldn't finish the play. After 22 minutes of play, ᗩᑎᗩᕼᗴᎥᗰ ᗪᑌᑕᛕᔕ's Gerry Bibby made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tommy Pullen was left in no man's land by his defense there! Chesney Bastow made an important save on a dangerous shot by Teddy Verity in the 25th minute. After a rather tough play, Isle of Wight FC's Michael Messenger got a free kick in the 26th minute. Gerry Bibby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Pullen having to interfere. Keith Knightley struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Tommy Pullen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ᗩᑎᗩᕼᗴᎥᗰ ᗪᑌᑕᛕᔕ. In the 35th minute, Jonathan Dunning hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chesney Bastow showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kenny Ruddock, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. With a little luck, ᗩᑎᗩᕼᗴᎥᗰ ᗪᑌᑕᛕᔕ's Chesney Bastow got control of the ball when Teddy Verity tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Isle of Wight FC's zone, Gerry Bibby stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Pullen came out of the goal and Gerry Bibby tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Gerry Bibby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

In the 55th match minute, Isle of Wight FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Dunning to maneuver through the defense. 57 minutes into the match, Gerry Bibby dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tommy Pullen, 1-4. Dom Kyle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Tommy Pullen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 76th minute, Jonathan Dunning hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Gerry Bibby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chesney Bastow made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kenny Ruddock in the 80th minute of play. With a little luck, Isle of Wight FC's Tommy Pullen got control of the ball when Gerry Bibby tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of ᗩᑎᗩᕼᗴᎥᗰ ᗪᑌᑕᛕᔕ booed when Isle of Wight FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conal Newlyn didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tommy Pullen acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 84th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Brad Thompson. Gerry Bibby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Tommy Pullen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Teddy Verity recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Chesney Bastow made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teddy Verity in the 92nd minute of play. In the 93rd minute, Kenny Ruddock made a precise shot to the right of Chesney Bastow. ᗩᑎᗩᕼᗴᎥᗰ ᗪᑌᑕᛕᔕ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-5. When the final whistle sounded ᗩᑎᗩᕼᗴᎥᗰ ᗪᑌᑕᛕᔕ left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Isle of Wight FC.
